This deep navy men's haori from the Showa period (around the 1950s-1960s) is a rare find. It is woven in a fine textured fabric - understated and refined on the outside, with a stunning surprise within. The interior features a beautiful sansui-ga lining - sansui (山水) meaning "mountain and water" in Japanese, a classical style of East Asian ink-wash landscape art that has been treasured for centuries. The lining depicts mountains, trees, a pavilion by the water and an arched bridge in soft blues, greens and warm earth tones. This haori can be worn both ways - navy side out for a clean minimal look, or inside out to show for a more character.
Layer it over a simple outfit or jeans or use as a jacket for more formal occasions.
Haori ties (haori himo) are not included for this item but can be purchased separately.
