This pale blue silk haori from the Showa period, somewhere around the 1960s-1970s, is genuinely one of a kind. The outer shell is a fine textured silk decorated with delicate scattered white dots and thin vertical lines, evoking the quiet beauty of falling snow or morning rain on still water. The body and sleeves are lined in a smooth satin silk that gradates gently from white to soft blue and when the haori is worn open, both fabrics become visible at once, creating a layered, dreamy effect that is hard to describe and even harder to ignore. A truly special piece - the kind that people stop to look at twice.
Layer it over your favourite outfit for an effortless finishing touch or as a Spring jacket.
Haori ties (haori himo) are not included for this item but can be purchased separately.
