This vintage haori features a vibrant red base with a woven kikkō (tortoiseshell hexagon) motif, symbolizing longevity and protection. The fabric has a subtle sheen and textural depth, thanks to its intricate jacquard weave. Select hexagons are accented with shaded tones and white speckled designs, creating a dynamic, modern impression rooted in tradition.
Inside, the lining reveals a delightful surprise - a soft ivory silk adorned with hand-painted karako (Chinese children) in festive dress, pulling a treasure ship (takarabune) across golden hills. This charming interior adds playful warmth and cultural storytelling to the piece.
